Agency workers in Derby asked to share stories
Janet Dean, MP for Burton and Uttoxeter, is urging workers in her constituency to tell her if they have been poorly treated because they are agency workers.
Mrs Dean said: “I want workers in my constituency to tell me about their experiences as agency workers. For some, the flexibility of temporary agency working is a bonus. But for others, it brings job insecurity, poorer pay, no holiday and sick pay and even cases of pay being docked to pay for essential equipment or training.”
Mrs Dean particularly wants to hear from agency workers who are being paid less money than permanent workers doing the same job, are denied holiday entitlement or sick pay and those who have pay deducted to provide for equipment, transport or accommodation.
