Two men have been banned from running an employment agency for a total of 15 years after being found guilty of breaching safety standards following the deaths of two drivers.
The case was brought by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) after two men died as a result of one lorry driver having worked too many hours without rest. He was employed by the offenders’ agency, R&B Drivers.
After yesterday’s tribunal, a spokesman for the Transport and General Workers’ Union section of Unite said the case showed the human tragedy that can follow when regulations are not followed.
