Glastonbury supports trade union rights for migrant rights
GMB and the Polish Cultural Institute have linked up to bring Polish artists to the Left Field Stage at the Glastonbury Festival 2007, as part of the campaign to win trade union rights for migrant workers in the UK.
Two Polish bands will play Glastonbury’s Left Field stage. Poise Rite and Habakuk - a Polish reggae group.
Paul Kenny, GMB General Secretary, accompanied by GMB activists from the migrant workers communities and other officials, will give details of the Union’s organising campaign in workplaces with a high proportion of migrant workers and give details of success stories.
Geoff Martin, Director of Left Field said “No other festival in the UK would bring the migrant workers campaign right to the heart of the event other than Glastonbury.”
