One in five migrants paid below £5 per hour

A new study for the JRF has shown that whilst many immigrants to the UK are successful in finding work most are in low paid jobs with limited occupational mobility. The research fohnd that one in five working immigrants reported hourly wages below £5 and women were more likely to receive very low wages than men.
The research also found that 42% of working immigrants reported receiving no fringe benefits at all, such as paid holiday, and that only 4% belonged to a trade union.
