Madeleine Bunting is a columnist on the Guardian and Associate Editor. She is the author of several books including Willing Slaves, How the Overwork Culture is Ruling Our Lives. She has won several awards for her journalism, most recently the Race in the Media award for 2005 for her journalism on the British Muslim community. She lives in North East London.
